About Our Founder

Jessie Sandoval, a health and wellness advocate for many years, is the owner and founder of Shanti Yoga Center. She has personally practiced yoga for more than 20 years and has been teaching classes for more than 15. During her experience, she realized that yoga is a place to come home to no matter which path leads you through the door, and for that reason she decided to make this passion into a lifelong career that ultimately helps others, opening Shanti Yoga Center in Summer 2019.

As a yoga teacher, Jessie meets her students where they are in their practice, actively working to create a space where people can easily continue to grow. During her own practice, Jessie initially came to yoga with an athlete’s mind, looking to improve her flexibility after acknowledging the toll that running had taken on her body. She experienced immense physical benefits from yoga while taking special note of how it calmed her mind. As she connected to her breath more and more, not only did her physical wellness improve, but she felt she became a better mother, wife, and daughter. It is this personal experience that has brought so much knowledge to Jessie’s teaching, which she looks forward to sharing with students from all walks of life.

Jessie’s compassion and respect for others creates an environment where exploration and curiosity are possible and allows her students to move beyond the physical in order to be present in the now. Her clear instructions allow each student to enter their own practice as she offers many accessible cueing options for each pose and sequence.

Jessie has over 2500 hours of teaching experience and her RYT500 certification as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. She received her 200hr yoga teacher training (YTT) in Houston, Texas, and completed her 500hr training at Yoga North in Duluth, Minnesota, with a focus on Therapeutic SomaYoga and Classic Hatha Yoga. Recently, Jessie earned her E-RYT200 and joined the faculty team at Green Lotus Yoga and Healing Center where she teaches yoga philosophy and pranayama (breath work) in the 200hr teacher training course.

Jessie is here to help you be brave as you find your personal aliveness. Her most resonating mantra is Brene´ Brown’s concept of Wholehearted Living, which means engaging with your life from a place of worthiness. Brown challenges us to be, “brave, afraid, and very, very alive.”
